Actors Candela Peña and Secun de la Rosa are touring the Canary Islands this September with Precipicio y parapente, an improvisational meta-theater production that replaces scripted narratives with personal stories and direct audience interaction.

The Spanish theater scene is set to host a unique new production that breaks away from traditional performance formats. Actors Candela Peña and Secun de la Rosa have created Precipicio y parapente (Precipice and Paragliding), a show that trades a scripted narrative for spontaneity and direct audience interaction.

Built on the long-standing professional and personal bond between the two stars, the show acts as a piece of "meta-theater." Rather than following a fictional plot, the performance is shaped by the actors' own life stories and their real-time responses to the audience. Throughout the evening, they explore themes like managing personal expectations, the challenges of public life, and the contradictions of building a career in the arts.

The production will tour the Canary Islands this September with three performances:

  • September 11: Auditorio Insular de Fuerteventura, Puerto del Rosario, at 8:30 p.m.
  • September 12: Teatro Pérez Galdós, Gran Canaria, at 8:00 p.m.
  • September 13: Auditorio de Tenerife, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets are available online. You can purchase passes for the Fuerteventura show at www.ecoentradas.com, for the Gran Canaria performance at teatroperezgaldos.janto.es, and for the Tenerife show at auditoriodetenerife.com.

With this project, Peña and De la Rosa are embracing a growing trend in Spanish theater: shows that break the "fourth wall" to ensure that every performance is a one-of-a-kind experience.
