The Canary Islands Youth Orchestra is embarking on an eight-island tour titled ¡A todo bronce! to bring high-quality brass performances to local communities before launching its Raíces project in Madrid and Barcelona this autumn.

The Canary Islands Youth Orchestra (Jocan) is strengthening its commitment to bringing culture to every corner of the archipelago. By performing across all eight islands, the orchestra is proving its role as a vital musical force, overcoming the logistical challenges of island life to ensure that high-quality performances reach local communities.

The orchestra’s latest tour, titled ¡A todo bronce! (All Brass!), features small-scale performances designed to connect closely with audiences. The tour kicks off this Friday at the Auditorio de La Peña in El Hierro (7:30 p.m.), followed by performances at the Church of San Andrés Apóstol in La Palma on Saturday (7:00 p.m.), the Auditorio de La Gomera on Sunday (6:00 p.m.), and the Church of Santo Domingo in La Orotava on Monday, July 20 (8:00 p.m.), in partnership with the Tenerife Chamber Music Festival.

After a short break, the tour continues on July 23 at the Inocencia Páez Sociocultural Center in La Graciosa (7:30 p.m.). The remaining dates include the Benito Pérez Armas Cultural Center in Yaiza, Lanzarote (July 24, 7:30 p.m.); the Church of Antigua, Fuerteventura (July 25, 8:00 p.m.); and the Municipal Center of Culture in La Aldea de San Nicolás, Gran Canaria (July 26, 8:00 p.m.).

Looking ahead to autumn, the orchestra is preparing for its Raíces (Roots) project. This larger production will feature collaborations with the group Los Sabandeños and pianist Juan Floristán. The program will travel beyond the islands, with performances scheduled in Madrid and Barcelona this September, highlighting the orchestra's growing national presence.
