Canary Islands TV Moves 'Mira quién viene a cenar' to Friday Prime Time
Canary Islands regional television has moved its lifestyle and interview program Mira quién viene a cenar to Friday nights, featuring an upcoming episode with singer Shaila Dúrcal.
Canary Islands regional television is shaking up its prime-time schedule to better connect with viewers. The network is moving its interview and lifestyle show, Mira quién viene a cenar (Look Who's Coming to Dinner), to Friday nights. It will now air at approximately 11:15 p.m., immediately following the drama series El ambulatorio.
The show blends personal interviews with local cuisine, a format the network hopes will build a loyal audience. In this week’s episode, host Rafa Méndez sits down with singer Shaila Dúrcal, who has strong personal and professional ties to the islands. They will discuss her family’s musical legacy, joined by La Voz Kids 2022 contestant Mario Falero. Together, the two artists will reflect on the life and career of the legendary Rocío Dúrcal.
Chef Luna Zacharias continues to lead the show’s culinary segment, highlighting local ingredients with a creative twist. This week’s menu features a sweet potato, guacamole, and ham appetizer, a watermelon salmorejo main course, and a dessert combining banana, gofio, and cocoa.
The program has already hosted a variety of notable guests, including Lydia Lozano, Caco Senante, and Aarón Gómez. By moving to Friday nights, the network hopes to offer a relaxed, entertaining way for viewers to unwind at the end of the work week.
