Canary Islands to Host 'AI Week' to Boost SME Digital Transformation
The Canary Islands will host a series of "AI Week" technical sessions throughout September to help local SMEs integrate artificial intelligence while ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency.
The digital transformation of businesses in the Canary Islands is hitting a major milestone with the upcoming "AI Week." Coordinated by Red.es and the Acelera pyme office network, the initiative will host four technical sessions throughout September to help local companies understand how to use, regulate, and benefit from artificial intelligence.
This training program aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adopt automated tools while ensuring they remain legally compliant and efficient. The sessions are designed to share expert knowledge across the islands, focusing on four key areas:
- September 21 (Hotel Taburiente): An overview of the legal side of AI, featuring judicial expert Selva Orejón and lawyers Daiana Lamela and Iván Afonso.
- September 22 (FIT Canarias, Adeje): A look at the practical side of AI, where advisor Jon Hernández and creative industries specialist Clara de Luna will present real-world examples.
- September 23 (CDTCA, Adeje): A hands-on workshop led by designer Beatriz Vega, focusing on how freelancers and entrepreneurs can use Canva to improve their visual content.
- September 24 (La Laguna Gran Hotel): A final session on the local business landscape, where executives Elena Alcover and Maica Amador will discuss their experiences and the challenges of growing tech projects from the islands.
