Canary Islands See Slight Cooling as Temperatures Remain Above 30°C

The Canary Islands will see a slight drop in temperatures this Tuesday, August 25, according to the latest report from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). While the weather will feel a little cooler, it will remain hot, with temperatures reaching or exceeding 30°C in several areas.

The heat will vary across the islands. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 24°C, while Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will see temperatures between 23°C and 27°C. This weather pattern is driven by trade winds blowing from the northeast. While these winds will generally be light to moderate, the islands' terrain will cause them to pick up speed in certain coastal areas and higher elevations.

Conditions at sea will be slight to moderate, with winds at force 3 to 4 and gusts reaching force 5. There is also a warning for swells from the north and northwest, with waves between 2 and 3 meters high, though conditions are expected to improve as the day goes on.
