The Canary Islands General Police Corps successfully arrested a young man in Arona who was wanted for a juvenile detention order and an outstanding court warrant.

The Canary Islands General Police Corps (CGPC) recently demonstrated the importance of enforcing judicial orders for minors with the successful arrest of a young man in Arona. The individual had been subject to an active detention order for the Valle Tabares Educational Juvenile Detention Center since earlier this year.

The operation was a success thanks to close cooperation between agencies. The CGPC’s Minor’s Group used intelligence-led police work, combined with information shared by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Police, to track the youth. This coordination allowed officers to set up a targeted surveillance operation, leading to his arrest in a coastal area in the south of the island.

In addition to the detention order for the juvenile center, the young man was also wanted by the Arona Court of First Instance. Following his arrest, he was handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities to address his outstanding legal requirements.

This case highlights the vital role of specialized juvenile police units. Their ability to conduct discreet, persistent surveillance is essential for ensuring that juvenile court rulings are carried out promptly and effectively under Spanish law.
