The Canary Islands government launched an online directory to promote women working in the islands' arts and creative industries, aiming to foster a more inclusive cultural scene.

The Canary Islands government has launched a new online tool to showcase talented women working in the islands' arts and creative industries.

If you're a woman working in this sector, you can add your profile to the directory through the Canarian Institute of Cultural Development (ICDC) website. Just go to the "Equality, Diversity and Culture" section to find the database, which is organised by profession.

This free, public directory aims to connect people with women in fields like theatre, film, literature, music, visual arts, heritage, cultural management, design, digital culture, and cultural communication.

The goal is to make it easier to find and contact female creators, managers, researchers, and other professionals from all the islands, creating a more inclusive and diverse cultural scene. The directory is designed to be a collaborative and ever-growing resource. It's launching with around thirty profiles, and more will be added in the coming weeks.

The platform will be officially presented on November 26th at the Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, starting at 8:30 p.m. Entry is free.

The event will feature talks and discussions about women's experiences in the cultural sector. There will be a panel discussion with female creators from various fields, as well as presentations of success stories and opportunities for networking.

The Women's Directory is part of the ICDC's "Diversity, Equality and Culture" program, demonstrating the Canary Islands government's commitment to gender equality in the arts.

This directory is a valuable resource for the media, arts programmers, businesses, and the public. It's designed to be a dynamic and expanding platform, so new professionals are always welcome to register.
