The Government of the Canary Islands has allocated nearly one million euros to support 530 cultural projects, enabling artists and professionals to travel and promote their work internationally by 2025.

The Government of the Canary Islands is providing financial support to over 500 cultural projects. These projects, submitted by artists and cultural professionals, involve traveling with their work to other islands or abroad. The Department of Culture recently approved the third and final set of applications, bringing the total investment for these initiatives to nearly one million euros, to be used by 2025.

In this third round, 196 more projects were approved. This adds to the 314 projects approved in the first two rounds, making a total of 510 projects. All these activities are planned to happen between November 2024 and October 2025.

The final list of projects approved in this third round, including the amounts they will receive, can be found on the notice board of the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture. It's also available online at www.icdcultural.org, in the 'calls for proposals' section.

This year, a total of 919,217 euros has been allocated, shared among 530 approved projects. Across all three funding rounds, over 81% of the projects that applied for this support were successful.

Cristóbal de la Rosa, head of the Directorate General for Cultural Innovation and Creative Industries, highlighted that these grants continue to attract many applicants. He also noted that they are helping Canarian talent achieve greater international recognition.

These grants are designed to support the cultural community across the Canary Islands. They aim to lessen the challenges of geographical spread and help the islands' cultural sector participate more easily in national and international events.

Every year, this funding supports various cultural professionals, such as artists, artistic representatives, and technical staff from creative industries. These are individuals who have traveled for their work in the past two fiscal years.
