This week, the Canary Islands Government is presenting Samir Delgado's essay, Alonso Quesada: la irremediable temperatura universal. This work explores the life, background, and literary creations of Alonso Quesada, the author who will be celebrated on Canary Islands Literature Day in 2025. Delgado was initially scheduled to present the essay on Thursday at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, alongside Beatriz Morales. Instead, he will present it today, Friday, at 7:00 PM at the State Public Library in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with Ramiro Rosón Mesa.

In his essay, Samir Delgado provides a comprehensive and well-researched look at Alonso Quesada. He covers Quesada's life story and the historical and literary world he lived in. Using a modern and critical perspective, Delgado connects Quesada with other writers of his era. He emphasizes Quesada's importance in the Canary Islands' culture and how his influence reached beyond the islands.

While visiting the Canary Islands, Delgado, who lives in Mexico, also presented his essay Turisferia in Gran Canaria. This work is part of the regional government's Clavijo y Fajardo collection. He will present Turisferia again on November 10 at 7:00 PM at the Institute of Hispanic Studies of the Canary Islands in Puerto de la Cruz.
