Canary Islands Forecast: Stable Weather and Moderate Winds Expected Saturday
The Canary Islands will experience stable weather this Saturday with persistent northern cloud cover gradually clearing and temperatures remaining steady between 17°C and 28°C.
The Canary Islands will see stable weather this Saturday, with the usual cloud cover lingering over northern slopes due to the trade winds. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), these clouds will gradually clear as the day progresses, particularly on the higher islands.
Temperatures will remain steady, generally ranging between 17°C and 28°C. A slight rise in daytime highs is expected in the southern midlands of Tenerife and inland Fuerteventura, while nighttime lows may increase slightly in the southern midlands of Gran Canaria.
Early in the day, low-lying northern areas will be cloudy, with cloud bases sitting between 700 and 1,000 meters. In Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, and Lanzarote, these clouds should clear by midday. La Palma and El Hierro will likely remain partly cloudy throughout the day, while Fuerteventura will see its morning clouds clear quickly.
Moderate northeasterly winds are expected across the islands. Stronger gusts are likely on the eastern and northwestern slopes of Gran Canaria, as well as the tips of Tenerife, La Palma, and El Hierro. Western coastal areas will experience lighter breezes, and winds on the central peaks of Tenerife will be light and westerly.
Conditions at sea will require caution. Aemet forecasts winds of force 2 to 3, increasing to 4 or 5 in the southeast and northwest, leading to choppy or rough seas. Conditions will be calmer along the west coast, where variable winds of force 1 to 3 will result in smoother waters.
