Canary Islands Experience Mixed Weather With Highs Reaching 28°C

The Canary Islands are experiencing a mix of spring-like temperatures and lingering light rain this Wednesday, with skies expected to clear across the region by the afternoon.

The Canary Islands are seeing a mix of weather this Wednesday, with warm temperatures sitting alongside some lingering instability. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Tenerife will reach a high of 28°C, though the day won't be entirely settled, as scattered light rain is still possible.

This weather pattern is typical for the islands, where the landscape influences how air moves. Light to moderate northeasterly winds are expected, though the higher peaks of Tenerife will see stronger southwesterly winds, which often help clear the clouds and change how the temperature feels at high altitudes.

Across the islands, skies are expected to clear up by the afternoon. In the province of Tenerife, the day will start with overcast skies and a small chance of light rain—mostly in the north—before turning clearer. Temperatures will stay steady, with Santa Cruz de Tenerife seeing a range between 19°C and 28°C.

The other western islands are following a similar trend. In San Sebastián de La Gomera, temperatures will reach 26°C with a low of 20°C, with clouds clearing after the morning. Santa Cruz de La Palma will see highs of 24°C and lows of 19°C, while Valverde on El Hierro will be cooler, ranging from 17°C to 22°C. Overall, while the daytime highs feel like spring, the northern parts of the islands remain subject to some light, unsettled weather.
