Canary Islands Cultural Association Receives Excellence Award for Digital Transparency

Managing public information has become a top priority for non-profits in the Canary Islands, where transparency is now a key measure of an organization's quality. The Cultural Association of Friends for the Dissemination and Recognition of Cinema, Theater, and Literature has been recognized with an Excellence Award for Digital Transparency, honoring the group for its openness and clear reporting.

The award was presented at the Casino de Santa Cruz de Tenerife by Noelia García Leal, the Commissioner for Transparency and Access to Public Information, to Ramón González Trujillo, co-director of the association and the Isla Calavera Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival. The ceremony highlighted the importance of cultural organizations—especially those receiving public funding—in meeting strict transparency standards.

With over a decade of experience, the non-profit has built a strong management structure. Its work includes running the Cinema Classroom at the University of La Laguna, organizing the Spanish Film Exhibition of Tenerife, and launching the Isla Calavera Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival. Now in its tenth year, the festival has become a major international event on the local cultural calendar.

This award confirms the association’s commitment to responsible communication. As the public increasingly expects clear information on how resources are used and how projects are run, this recognition places the organization at the forefront of the region’s non-profit sector.
