Aena's Canary Islands airports are scheduled to handle 837 flights this Christmas Day, part of an anticipated 24,827 flights for the entire holiday season, reflecting a nationwide increase in air traffic.

The eight Aena airports in the Canary Islands are set to handle a total of 837 flights this Christmas Day, December 25th. This marks an increase of 43 flights compared to last year, when 794 operations took place on the same day.

Looking at individual airports, Gran Canaria is scheduled for 268 flights on Christmas Day. Tenerife North will see 178 flights, Tenerife South 129, and Fuerteventura 100. Lanzarote has 96 operations planned, La Palma 50, El Hierro 10, and La Gomera 8.

For the entire Christmas season, from December 19th to January 7th, Aena expects Canary Island airports to handle 24,827 flights. This is 1,708 more than the 23,119 flights seen last year. It's worth noting that this year's period is one day longer, as last year's count ran from December 20th to January 7th.

Nationwide, Aena's network of Spanish airports anticipates a total of 101,793 flights during this Christmas period. This represents a 7.8% increase compared to a year earlier.
