The XXIV Canarias Dentro y Fuera Dance Festival concludes today in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, showcasing six new performances across traditional venues and an innovative circuit through unusual city locations.

The XXIV Canarias Dentro y Fuera Dance Festival, which started last Friday, wraps up today, Tuesday, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The festival features a total of six brand-new performances.

The day kicks off at 12:00 PM at Espacio La Granja, where three new shows will be seen for the first time. First, the Mirlo company and Saray Salce will present "2pierre." This piece explores themes of time, death, and how fragile things are, looking at how we try to protect what we think is stable.

Next, the Mirlo company will perform "Gratitudes." This show focuses on gratitude as a deep way to reconnect, be present, and appreciate life.

The event at Espacio La Granja will finish with the Asoca2 company presenting "Alhira." This piece asks what freedom truly means and how we can love and be loved while still being our truest selves.

The festival then moves to a circuit through unusual places, turning different spots in central Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the El Toscal neighborhood into temporary stages for modern dance.

These performances will happen one after another along a shared route. After each show, the audience will walk to the next location, making the journey itself part of the artistic experience. This approach aims to bring the city to life, encourage people to meet, and highlight dance as a vibrant, living art form.

At 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, this circuit begins at the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Tenerife. Élida Dorta and Román Brito will perform "Emerger: The power of The End," which suggests "ending one space to create another." Following this, the Sonia Rodríguez company, Enrico Paglialunga, and Giancomo Corvaia will present "#undermyskin," a piece that blends dance, cinema, and technology for an immersive experience.

The CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz will host the EnbeDanza company's "Días de sol y sombra" (Days of Sun and Shadow) starting at 6:00 PM. To conclude the unconventional spaces circuit, "Calle Viana a Dúo. Concierto Bailado y cantado" (Viana Street as a Duo. Danced and Sung Concert) by the Luz de Esperanza company is set for 7:00 PM in Pasaje Cachimba, turning the street into a stage for music and dance.

The Victoria Theater will host the final performances of the day and the festival, starting at 8:00 PM. Orillas will perform "Azawan," a piece that uses contemporary dance and live music to explore the emotional and symbolic connection between Africa and the Canary Islands.

Next, Abián Hernández and Andrea Pérez will premiere "BULLnerable." The description says this work "highlights the power of sensitivity and the need to connect with oneself and others to accept uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure."

Dancers Alicia Hernández and Miguel Hernández will bring the Canarias Dentro y Fuera Dance Festival to a close with "In(dependence)." An introduction to their piece asks, "Attraction and rejection, support and resistance, unity and fracture: where does the self end and the other begin?"
