Canarian Establishments Earn New Repsol Guide ‘Soletes’ Recognition
The latest edition of the Repsol Guide highlights the growing influence of Canarian cuisine and culture by awarding "Soletes" to unique local establishments that blend dining with innovative experiences.
Canarian cuisine continues to gain national recognition following the latest update to the Repsol Guide. In its fourteenth edition, the guide highlights how the islands are successfully blending dining with unique accommodation and cultural experiences.
Among the new "Soletes" recipients is Silogía, a restaurant in Garachico, Tenerife. The guide praised the venue for how well it fits into the town’s historic setting.
The "Soletes"—an award introduced in 2021 to celebrate authentic and unique establishments—was also given to Lambada Records in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Inspectors highlighted this spot for its creative business model, which combines a dining experience with a vinyl record shop.
These awards reflect the Repsol Guide’s shift toward recommending more than just fine dining. With over 5,000 spots now featured across the country, the guide is focusing on places that offer overnight stays, making it easier for travelers to plan trips during busy periods like Easter.
María Ritter, director of the guide, explained that this edition aims to meet the growing demand for spaces that mix local tradition with fresh, innovative ideas. By expanding these recommendations—which now include spots in Andorra—the guide continues to showcase the vitality of the hospitality sector, appealing to travelers looking for cultural immersion and destinations with real character.
