
CajaCanarias Unveils "Spring at the Foundation" Lineup
The CajaCanarias Foundation has announced the lineup for its "Spring at the Foundation" series, featuring music, comedy, and theater with well-known artists from March 21 to June 19.
The CajaCanarias Foundation has announced the lineup for the third edition of its "Spring at the Foundation" series. This event, running from March 21 to June 19, will feature music, comedy, and theater with well-known artists. Most performances will be held at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with one show taking place in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Activities generally begin at 8:00 PM, except for family theater performances. Tickets start from five euros and are available on www.cajacanarias.com. Members of the "Friends of the Foundation" program receive a 25% discount on selected shows.
The music program begins on March 27 with pianist Moisés P. Sánchez's recital, "Falla imaginado." He will be joined by Ana María Valderrama on violin and Pablo Martín Caminero on double bass. On April 10, Spanish rock artist Quique González will perform songs from his album "1973."
The Canarian group Mambisa will perform on April 17, promising a show filled with power, heritage, energy, and emotion. A major highlight of the series is guitarist Yerai Cortés from Alicante, performing on April 30.
Said Muti will present his third studio album, "Criminales del Sueño," on May 8. Andrea Motis brings her new project, "Temblor," to Tenerife on May 15. She will perform on trumpet and vocals, accompanied by Christoph Mallinger on violin and mandolin, and Zé Luis Nascimento on percussion. British singer-songwriter Charlie Cunningham is scheduled for May 23.
On May 29, "La línea del horizonte" (The Horizon Line), a project by Domingo Rodríguez "el Colorao," will be presented. Domingo will share the stage with his daughters, Julia and Ayla, for an emotional show blending music, words, and memories. Spanish indie pop singer-songwriter Ana Fernández-Villaverde, known as La Bien Querida, will give a concert on June 5.
On June 12, the Franco-Brazilian duo Birds on a Wire, featuring singer Rosemary Standley and cellist/singer Dom La Nena, will take the stage. The music program wraps up on June 19 with Tarwa N-Tiniri, a Moroccan desert blues band that draws from Amazigh traditions.
The theater series begins on March 21 at 12:00 PM with the family puppet show "La Bruja Rechinadientes" (The Grinding-Teeth Witch) by Katua&Galea Teatro. Alberto Conejero's tragicomedy, "Tres noches en Ítaca" (Three Nights in Ithaca), starring Marta Nieto, Cecilia Freire, and Amaia Lizarralde, will be performed on June 3 and 4. The theater program finishes on June 10 and 11 with "Casting Lear," an autofiction piece by Andrea Jiménez.
The comedy lineup starts on April 9 in Tenerife and April 11 in La Palma with "Señoras y Señoras" (Ladies and Ladies), featuring journalists María Guerra and Mariola Cubells. Facu Díaz and Miguel Maldonado will bring "Quieto todo el mundo" (Everyone Quiet) to Tenerife on May 21. Clara Ingold closes the comedy program on June 18 with her new show, "Paloma de parque" (Park Pigeon). This performance is described as a mix of celebration and lament, joy and sadness, beginnings and endings, comedy and drama, and humor and criticism.
