The CajaCanarias Film Library presents its "Invisible Wounds" film series, exploring emotional pain and hidden violence with free screenings of All of Us Strangers and Promising Young Woman starting this Monday, November 10th, at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The CajaCanarias Film Library is presenting a film series called "Invisible Wounds." This series encourages viewers to reflect on the emotional pain and hidden violence that often exist in human relationships. It explores, from various viewpoints, themes of vulnerability, guilt, and the desire to make amends after harm has been done.

The series features two films: All of Us Strangers (2023) and Promising Young Woman (2020). The screening of Promising Young Woman is timed with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Both sessions will take place at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, starting at 7:00 PM. The first is this Monday, November 10th, and the second is on November 24th. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

All of Us Strangers opens the series tomorrow, featuring powerful performances from lead actors Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal. The story follows Adam (Scott), who lives a very lonely life in his quiet London apartment.

His life changes when he meets his neighbor, Harry (Mescal), who brings unexpected warmth into his world. As they grow closer, Adam feels drawn back to his past: his childhood, his old home, and the memories that haunt him. The film earned six BAFTA nominations, including Best British Film, and Andrew Scott was nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes.

Promising Young Woman (2020) will conclude the series on Monday, November 24th. This film was Emerald Fennell's first as a director. Critics widely praised it as one of the year's most important films, sparking considerable discussion.

The movie tells the story of Cassie (Carey Mulligan), whose promising future is destroyed by a traumatic event, forcing her to give up her dreams. What seemed like the end of her life became the start of something much darker: by day she seems ordinary, but by night she cleverly and boldly navigates a world where justice feels out of reach. The film received five nominations at the 2021 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress, and won the award for Best Original Screenplay.
