This Friday, the CajaCanarias Foundation is holding the elimination round for its VIII Alberto Delgado Young Music Award. This award is designed to help young artists build their careers and encourage creativity among musicians and music lovers.
The event will take place at the CajaCanarias Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, starting at 5:00 PM. Admission is free, but space is limited. Five talented groups and soloists will perform, competing for a prize of 3,000 euros.
The finalists are Ana Ayala Quartet feat. Cristopher Pérez, Hergo, Just_beca, Kimera, and Tierra de Fuego. The evening will also include a special performance by guest artist Sara Socas. Sara Socas, who hails from Tegueste and was born in 1997, first gained attention in MC battles in 2017, impressing audiences with her bold style, skill, and clever lyrics. In 2023, she shifted her focus from competing to developing her career as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.
The Alberto Delgado Young Music Award 2025 is once again partnering with the Phe Festival. The festival will choose one of the competing acts to be featured in its upcoming program. The winner of the competition will be announced at the CajaCanarias Awards Gala 2025, scheduled for early 2026.
