The CajaCanarias Foundation will host free performances of the award-winning micro-theater piece GASP by the Pedrolino collective at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Cultural Space this Tuesday, June 2.

The CajaCanarias Foundation is hosting a special performance at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Cultural Space this Tuesday, June 2. The event features GASP, a micro-theater piece performed by the Pedrolino collective—a group of students from the Canary Islands School of Actors.

The performance is free to attend, though space is limited. There will be two sessions, at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., as part of the programming for Jaume Plensa’s exhibition, Shadows and Poems.

This initiative reflects a modern approach to museum management, moving away from static displays to create more interactive, social spaces. By bringing performing arts into the gallery, the Foundation hopes to offer visitors a more engaging and participatory experience.

The Pedrolino collective, formed in 2024, has already made a name for itself in the regional theater scene. Their play GASP won awards for Best Direction and Best Micro-theater Production at the 1st Amateur Theater Festival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this past March. The cast includes Paula Marrero Sosa, Acerina Marzán Pérez, Yolanda Pascual Fajardo, Samuel Vázquez Canino, Aimara Martín Silva, Lucas Sequeiros Leyton, and Zhiling Wang. Over the last two years, the group has also premiered I am Arlecchino and The Ballad of the Mackies.
