CajaCanarias Foundation Expands 'Jazz Café' Series to La Palma
The CajaCanarias Foundation is expanding its "Jazz Café" concert series to La Palma as part of a diverse four-month program featuring performances ranging from gypsy jazz to Dixieland.
The CajaCanarias Foundation is expanding its cultural reach across the Canary Islands with a new program for the final four months of the year. The foundation announced that its popular "Jazz Café" series will now travel beyond Santa Cruz de Tenerife, hosting acoustic sessions in Santa Cruz de La Palma for the first time. This expansion is part of a broader effort to bring live music closer to local communities, with performances typically starting at 8:00 p.m. and paired with hospitality services.
Running from September through December 2026, the series features a mix of rising stars and seasoned professionals. Guitarist Christian Cabrera kicks off the season, performing his album Camino Las Fuentes on September 16 in Tenerife and September 17 in La Palma. On October 28, the Ana Ayala Quartet—winners of the 2025 CajaCanarias Young Music Prize—will take the stage in Tenerife. The group members bring experience from prestigious institutions like the Conservatori del Liceu and ESMUC.
The program also highlights international influences and classic jazz traditions. On November 11, Filippo Dall’Asta and Francesca Confortini will perform in Tenerife, showcasing the gypsy jazz heritage of Django Reinhardt. The series concludes in December with two final shows: the Mississippi Dixie Band will bring their signature Dixieland style to Tenerife on December 9, followed by a festive performance from Christmas Swing in La Palma on December 10.
