The Cabildo's governing body has approved a new tender for the Baudet theater renovation, the second phase of the Island Active Housing Program, an €8.2 million contract for Teide National Park visitor services, and the La Laguna fire station renovation tender.

The Cabildo's governing body has approved a new process to find a company to carry out renovation work on the old Baudet theater and cinema in Santa Cruz. This decision comes after the first attempt failed to attract any bids. The news was announced by Culture Councillor José Carlos Acha and island president Rosa Dávila.

The project's budget remains the same at €1,866,954, with an expected completion time of twelve months. The new tender process has been designed to offer better conditions for companies, hoping to encourage more interest.

Councillor Acha also reported that the Council approved the second phase of the Island Active Housing Program. This phase will begin with an investment of €2.2 million, which could potentially increase to €5 million.

Sonia Hernández, the island's Housing Councillor, later explained that this funding will help local councils finish properties they acquired during the program's first phase. This initiative works with the Canary Islands Housing Plan and aims to free up resources to build new affordable rental homes.

Meanwhile, President Rosa Dávila announced that 43 workers will now be responsible for maintenance, cleaning, and access control at the visitor centers in Teide National Park. This is an increase of three workers from the previous team. The public company Tragsa has been awarded a new three-year contract for this service, worth nearly €8.2 million – an increase of €2 million. This new contract ensures the service continues, as the old one was due to end in November.

The president also noted that the number of park rangers in Teide National Park will soon increase to 17, once a new transfer decree and a Master Plan for its use and management are approved.

Finally, she indicated that the Council was informed that the Tenerife Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue Consortium has approved the tender for a complete renovation project of the La Laguna fire station, budgeted at €547,099.20.
