A burst water pipe has closed one lane on Rambla de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, causing significant traffic problems as Emmasa workers expect repairs to be completed around 3:00 PM.

A burst water pipe has closed one lane on Rambla de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a major road into the capital, causing significant traffic problems. The incident, located at the junction with Jesús y María street, required workers from Emmasa, the company that manages the city's water supply.

Repairs started early this morning on the pavement next to the right-hand lane, which is now closed to traffic entering the city. Drivers are being diverted to the left lane, which remains open and is clearly marked to help traffic flow. Emmasa, the water company partly owned by Sacyr Group, expects the problem to be fixed in about four hours, hoping to finish around 3:00 PM if there are no unexpected issues.

Santa Cruz City Council is asking drivers in the area to be careful and for patience due to the disruption caused by the work. This kind of problem with essential services highlights how important regular maintenance is and how easily city systems can fail, affecting people's travel and daily lives.
