Boreal Festival Introduces Shuttle Service to Promote Sustainability in Los Silos
The Boreal Festival in Los Silos is promoting sustainability by offering a new shared bus service for attendees on September 18 and 19 to reduce traffic and the event's carbon footprint.
The Boreal Festival is boosting its commitment to sustainability by introducing a shared transport service for this year’s event. Taking place in the historic center of Los Silos from September 16 to 20, the festival is offering organized bus travel for attendees on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19.
This initiative addresses the challenges of hosting events in rural or protected areas, where high volumes of private cars often lead to traffic congestion and environmental concerns. By encouraging collective transport, organizers hope to lower the festival's carbon footprint and ease parking pressure in the small town of Los Silos.
The shuttle service will pick up passengers from three key locations: the Palmetum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (3:00 PM), the Leocadio Machado area in La Laguna (3:20 PM), and the El Trompo Shopping Center in La Orotava (3:45 PM). A round-trip ticket costs 15 euros. Return buses are scheduled for 2:15 AM on the first night and 3:15 AM on the second to ensure everyone gets home safely.
Because seating is limited, tickets must be booked in advance through the Tickety platform. Organizers are urging attendees to reserve their spots early to help make the event as environmentally friendly as possible while protecting the local Isla Baja landscape.
