Blue Rondo to Perform Acoustic Set at Santa Cruz Lavaderos Live Music Series
The local band Blue Rondo will perform an acoustic concert this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the Los Lavaderos Art Hall in Santa Cruz de Tenerife as part of the free Lavaderos Live Music series.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s cultural scene continues to grow with the latest edition of the Lavaderos Live Music series. This Thursday at 8:30 p.m., the Los Lavaderos Art Hall—located near the Hotel Mencey—will host a performance by the local band Blue Rondo, a group that has been a staple of the island's music scene for the past decade.
Supported by the local City Council and organized by Makaron, under the direction of Rubén Díaz, the event is free to the public until the venue reaches capacity.
Blue Rondo was founded in 2004 by bassist David López, with guitarist Jorge Hernández joining for live performances in 2014. The band is known for its constant exploration of new sounds. For this concert, the group is taking a minimalist approach, moving away from their usual electronic style to focus on acoustic warmth and string arrangements.
The performance will feature both new, unreleased material and familiar tracks from their discography. Joining the core duo on stage will be guitarist Álex Maasvadt and percussionist Dailos González.
The band’s evolution—having collaborated with various musicians over the years—highlights the strength of the Canary Islands' creative community. Originally formed to provide music for an art exhibition, Blue Rondo has since developed a unique musical identity, and this performance offers a chance to see how the group has matured over the years.
