Batistana Tenerife nearly achieved a national treble at the Iberdrola Spanish Group Championship, securing two gold medals in the senior and children's categories and a bronze in the First Category.

Batistana Tenerife has once again proven its strength, nearly achieving a national treble. The island club shone at the Iberdrola Spanish Group Championship in Madrid's Movistar Arena, securing two titles and a third medal that, despite being bronze, felt almost as valuable as gold.

At the end of the second day, Batistana Tenerife's First Category team couldn't quite hold onto their leading score from Thursday (23.950). Even though Jackeline Batista's team improved their score to 24.200 on Friday, it wasn't enough for gold. Palas took first place with an overall score of 48.300, largely due to a higher difficulty score in their second routine (12.000 compared to Tenerife's 10.500). Mabel from Valencia secured silver with 48.200. Batistana earned the bronze, a significant improvement from last year's sixth place, missing silver by just 0.050 points and gold by 0.150.

Batistana truly triumphed in the senior category. They led after the first routine with 23.500 points, giving them a comfortable cushion even with a fourth-best score of 22.750 on Friday. They finished six tenths ahead of Sakoneta from the Basque Country and seven tenths ahead of El Álamo from Madrid. Odisea also performed well, finishing fifth and just 0.350 points shy of a medal. This strong showing should earn them promotion to the First Category next season. Corarenal de La Laguna placed seventeenth, and Intara de Los Realejos finished eighteenth.

The children's category brought Batistana another valuable medal, improving on their silver from last year's National Championship. The Tenerife team dominated throughout both days, achieving the highest scores in both routines. This led to a total score of 4.950, giving them a one-and-a-half-point lead over Corza's Maspalomas, who took the silver.

While Batistana Tenerife didn't reach the podium in the junior category, they delivered an impressive second routine. Jackeline Batista's team recovered from mistakes in their first routine on Thursday, which had left them in 21st place. Their strong performance on Friday helped them climb to eighth place, securing a spot in today's apparatus finals. Corarenal finished thirtieth in this category.

In the alevín category, the Tenerife teams were not in contention for medals. Odisea achieved the best result, placing thirteenth in the freehand routine (and 21st overall). Intara finished sixteenth in both routines.

The competition concludes today with the benjamín category, featuring two Tenerife teams: Odisea Tenerife and Batistana. Additionally, the apparatus finals will be held, with five routines from the island: four from Batistana (First, Senior, Junior, and Children's categories) and one from Odisea (Senior category).
