Aridani Sanchez is the owner of this store and the soul of the project. He says that basketball has united his family. He has two sons who play basketball, so the store is an extension of his home. Aridani modestly mentions how he opened the first franchise in Gran Canaria in 2018, and now Basket Country has become a popular place for players, coaches, and fans in Tenerife.

"Basket Country is more than just a store; it's an experience," says Aridani. Here you can find everything from modern basketball sneakers to official NBA uniforms, balls for all ages, and stylish clothing for the city. It has everything the basketball community needs.

The idea to open such a store in the Canary Islands came about in 2013, when Basket Country was just starting in Vitoria. At that time, there was no place on the islands where you could buy everything you needed for basketball. Aridani decided to fix this and opened the first franchise in Gran Canaria. The success was obvious, and a few years later, the store also appeared in Tenerife.

The opening of the store in Santa Cruz coincided with a difficult time – the pandemic. "Opening a business during a pandemic was risky," admits Aridani. But for many, basketball became a way to stay connected to their favorite activity. Therefore, it was necessary to be creative and find an approach to each client. Now Basket Country is celebrating its fifth anniversary in Santa Cruz. This proves that hard work and love for basketball always resonate with people.

The secret of Basket Country is specialization and knowledge of its business. This is not just a sports store, but a place where everything is dedicated to basketball. Here, goods are carefully selected, professional advice is given, and each client is treated with understanding. "Many people come not only to shop, but also just to talk about basketball, get advice on choosing sneakers, or share their love for the game," says Aridani.

Basket Country is constantly communicating with brands and listening to customer requests. If someone needs a specific model of sneakers or a ball, the team does everything possible to find them. "We always try to be one step ahead," the owner emphasizes.

Basket Country often hosts various events, such as presentations with famous basketball players. One such event was a meeting with the legendary Carmelo Cabrera. Such events make the store a place where different generations meet, share stories, and simply enjoy basketball.

"We want to remain a home for those who love basketball," says Aridani. And in his words, you can feel that in Basket Country, the ball will never stop bouncing.
