Award-Winning Film 'Nino' Premieres at Tenerife Espacio de las Artes This Weekend
Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA) will host screenings of Pauline Loquès’ award-winning directorial debut, Nino, from Friday through Sunday.
European auteur cinema takes center stage at TEA (Tenerife Espacio de las Artes) this weekend with the arrival of the film Nino. The center will host screenings from Friday through Sunday at 7:00 p.m., with the film presented in its original French version with Spanish subtitles.
Nino is the directorial debut of Pauline Loquès. The story follows a 29-year-old protagonist who, after a throat cancer diagnosis, must assemble a personal support network within just 72 hours to begin treatment. Set against the backdrop of Paris, the film explores themes of emotional reconnection and overcoming social isolation.
The film has earned significant critical acclaim, becoming one of the standout cinematic releases of the season. Its success was cemented last year with two César awards—Best First Feature and Most Promising Actor—as well as a Best Actor win for Théodore Pellerin at the Cannes Film Festival’s Critics' Week. The cast also features notable performances from Noémie Merlant, Sandrine Bonnaire, and Aloïse Sauvage, who portray the support system surrounding the protagonist in this moving story about the urgency of life.
