Seville filmmaker Paco Campano's internationally acclaimed sci-fi musical comedy 'Cuántica Rave,' a Best Film winner at the Miami International Science Fiction Film, will have its national premiere on March 12 at the Málaga Festival's ZonaZine section.

Independent film 'Cuántica Rave,' directed by Seville filmmaker Paco Campano, is set for its national premiere on Thursday, March 12. It will be shown in the ZonaZine section of the Málaga Festival, which runs from this Friday until March 15. This is a significant event for Spanish cinema, and the film arrives with international acclaim, having won Best Film and four other awards at the Miami International Science Fiction Film (MiSciFi) in the U.S.

The movie is a sci-fi musical comedy, co-produced by Insularia Films (Tenerife) and La Zanfoña Producciones (Seville). Its cast includes Antonio Dechent, Pablo Carbonell, Javier Botet, and África de la Cruz. The story follows a singer and an activist DJ on an adventure through a dying universe, full of black holes, as they search for a legendary party said to be beyond the edge of the known universe.

Most of the filming took place inside Seville's Singer building. This old building, which once housed a textile factory and later ceramic and restoration workshops, was completely transformed to look like a spaceship. The crew also used the former Cervantes School on Becas Street for costumes, art, and makeup. This collaboration was facilitated by the Sevilla Film Office and the Heritage Department of the Seville City Council. Director Campano emphasized that, despite using digital touch-ups, the film aims to revive the atmosphere of classic, handcrafted science fiction.

JuanMa V. Betancort of Insularia Films highlighted that this co-production continues their partnership with La Zanfoña, which began with 'Playing Lecuona.' He added that it affirms their strong commitment to genre cinema and music, areas they consider fundamental to their work.
