In Tenerife, a search has been underway for the third week for a 30-year-old driver who allegedly caused an accident in Costa Adeje in which a girl was seriously injured, and then fled the scene.
A 30-year-old man has been wanted in southern Tenerife for three weeks. He allegedly caused an accident in which several cars were damaged. A 22-year-old girl was seriously injured, and a 20-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.
The accident occurred on August 19, around midnight, in the tourist area of Costa Adeje, near the La Caldera del Rey nature reserve.
It is said that the BMW driver lost control on France Avenue and crashed into other cars. He also hit a girl and a boy who were standing on the sidewalk.
The man fled the scene on foot. But he was quickly identified because documents were left in the car.
It is known that the wanted man is about 30 years old, he is from the city of Guía de Isora and has had problems with the law before.
Rescuers were informed about the accident around midnight.
Medics arrived at the scene. The 22-year-old girl was taken to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria Hospital due to severe injuries.
The other victim was taken to Hospiten Sur. The Adeje police are investigating the case.
