Auditorio de Tenerife Unveils Diverse Summer Cultural Program Ahead of 2026-2027 Season
The Auditorio de Tenerife is hosting a diverse summer program of international dance, music, and opera before launching its 2026-2027 season in September.
The Auditorio de Tenerife’s summer program has become a key highlight of the Canary Islands' cultural calendar. Running from the start of summer through the September equinox, the schedule keeps the venue vibrant as it prepares for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
The program offers a wide range of performances. In dance, the venue is hosting international acts through the Mapas project, including the recent Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Upcoming highlights include performances by the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, featuring choreography by Alexander Ekman, Hofesh Shechter, and Sharon Eyal. The dance series also features La Quijá by Paloma Muñoz and Bodies of Water by Iván Pérez, with the Island Music Band closing out the month of July.
Music also plays a major role this summer. The 20th edition of Fimucité will feature the Spanish premiere of John Williams Reimagined, a screening of Star Wars: A New Hope with a live symphonic score led by Eímear Noone, and a closing gala conducted by Diego Navarro. Additionally, the Canarias Jazz & Más festival will bring performances by Tigran Hamasyan and Jacob Collier, accompanied by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic.
Following a break in August, the Auditorio de Tenerife will kick off its 2026-2027 season on September 5 and 6 with the Spanish National Ballet’s production of Afanador. The autumn schedule remains busy: the Tenerife Symphony, led by Pablo González, will perform Mahler’s Resurrection, followed by a September 18 concert featuring works by Wolfe, Berg, and Janáček, conducted by Ilan Volkov.
Finally, the venue continues its commitment to opera and chamber music. The Ópera en minúscula cycle will present Luciérnaga by Gabriela Ortiz and Svadba by Ana Sokolovic at Espacio La Granja. Rounding out the season, the Handeliana organ concert will feature the Tenerife Baroque Orchestra and organist Juan de la Rubia on September 13, showcasing the auditorium’s dedication to a diverse range of artistic genres.
