Auditorio de Tenerife to Host Free Concert Celebrating Local Musical Traditions
The Auditorio de Tenerife will host a free concert this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. featuring three local musical groups as part of the "Musical Spring" series celebrating the island's cultural heritage.
The Chamber Hall at the Auditorio de Tenerife will host a celebration of the island’s musical traditions this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. As part of the "Musical Spring" series, the event is free to the public until the venue reaches capacity. The initiative aims to showcase the vital role that local bands play in the cultural and social life of Tenerife’s communities.
The concert highlights the long history of these groups, which serve as pillars of identity across the Canary Islands. The program begins with the Agrupación Musical Nueva Unión from Los Silos. Led by conductor Juana María Bolaños Polegre, the band will perform three pieces from their repertoire.
Next, the Agrupación Musical Isorana—founded in 1958 and directed by Ana Gloria Carvajal Rodríguez—will take the stage. Their performance will feature a variety of genres, including arrangements of popular hits like I Will Survive and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, alongside the piece El bote.
The event concludes with the Sociedad Cultural José Reyes Martín from Granadilla. With over 150 years of history, the group represents the region’s enduring musical legacy. For this performance, they have chosen two contemporary works: La ruta del Cid by David Rivas and Pacific Dreams by Jacob de Haan.
Bringing these three groups together highlights more than just a concert series; it underscores the importance of local music schools, which remain essential for training the next generation of musicians across the islands.
