The Auditorio de Tenerife's 2026 jazz season kicks off this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall with Moisés P. Sánchez and his quartet performing "Dedication II."
The Auditorio de Tenerife's 2026 jazz season kicks off this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall. The opening concert, "Dedication II," features Moisés P. Sánchez, a highly acclaimed musician in both Spain and Europe. Known for his distinctive style and blend of influences, Sánchez's music goes beyond traditional genre limits, captivating audiences with its rich sound, energy, and fresh ideas.
"Dedication II" is a follow-up to Sánchez's 2010 album, "Dedication," which was recorded in New York and released by Universal. Sixteen years and many experiences later, Sánchez and his original quartet are back together. They will perform at the Auditorio de Tenerife, sharing their musical journey and new insights from their latest work, which they are currently touring.
His newest album, "Dedication II," was released in Germany and features lively, expressive tracks. It first premiered at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, followed by performances in other Spanish cities like Huesca and Valencia, and also in Athens.
Moisés P. Sánchez's music showcases his incredible skill and deep artistic sensitivity. For this concert, he will be joined by double bassist Toño Miguel, drummer Borja Barrueta, and tenor saxophonist Javier Vercher.
Beyond his roles as a composer, producer, pianist, improviser, and arranger, Moisés P. Sánchez has received numerous awards. He was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2019 for his album "Unbalanced: concerto for ensemble" and won the MIN Independent Music Award twice (in 2017 and 2022). He has also earned other honors in the US and Spain. During the 2022/2023 season, he was the artist-in-residence at the National Center for Musical Diffusion (CNDM).
Tickets for the concert cost 15 euros, with a special price of 5 euros for those under 30.
