Auditorio de Tenerife Hosts Free 'Primavera Musical' Concert This Sunday
The Auditorio de Tenerife will host a free Primavera Musical concert this Sunday at 11:30 a.m., featuring performances by three local music bands from the island's northern region.
The vibrant music scene in northern Tenerife returns to the Auditorio de Tenerife this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The Tenerife Federation of Music Bands announced that the venue’s Chamber Hall will host the latest installment of the Primavera Musical (Musical Spring) series. Supported by the island’s Cabildo, this event highlights the talent of three local groups. Admission is free until the hall reaches capacity.
These performances do more than showcase artistic talent; they highlight the vital role music bands play across the islands. Historically, these groups have served as essential training grounds for musicians and hubs for community connection.
The concert begins with the Agrupación Musical Orotava, led by Julio Castañeda. Their program ranges from the local sounds of Teobaldo Power’s Cantos Canarios to Spanish lyrical classics from La Gran Vía.
Next, the Agrupación Musical XIX de Marzo from San Juan de la Rambla, directed by Damián González García, will perform a diverse repertoire featuring works by Antón Alcalde, Johnie Vinson, and Ottorino Respighi.
The event concludes with the Agrupación Musical Puerto de la Cruz, under the direction of Pedro Aitor Alonso Campoy. They will perform pieces by José Manuel Encinoso, Jacob de Haan, and Eduardo Moreno. This showcase reinforces the importance of bringing local culture to the archipelago’s major performance venues.
