Atlético Paso one point off top after 3-0 win.
Atlético Paso defeated San Fernando 3-0, moving within one point of league leaders Lanzarote and extending San Fernando's poor run of form.
Atlético Paso is now just one point behind league leaders Lanzarote, thanks to a strong 3-0 win against San Fernando, whose poor form continues. After a cautious start, Atlético Paso slowly took control and scored their first goal around the 30-minute mark. San Fernando started the second half stronger, but Paso extended their lead on the counter-attack and sealed the win with a goal from a set piece.
The game began quietly, with few clear chances. Edu Salles had a weak shot from the edge of the box, which Roberto saved easily. Atlético Paso slowly tried to get control of the ball but found it hard to break down a well-organised San Fernando defence.
Atlético Paso's efforts paid off in the 28th minute when Ale Martínez played a through ball to Matías Cedrez, who slotted home calmly when one-on-one with the keeper. Just before halftime, San Fernando almost equalised; Pipa sent in a low cross, but Edu Salles couldn't convert, and Roberto made a double save to keep his goal safe.
After the break, San Fernando started the second half with more intensity, putting pressure on the Paso defence. Around the hour mark, they had to clear a goal-bound shot off the line during a goalmouth scramble. Despite this pressure, Ale Martínez nearly doubled Paso's lead on a counter-attack, but Fermín made a good save to deny him in a one-on-one.
Paso then scored their second goal in the 74th minute from another counter-attack. Guille Roque played a pass through to David Pérez, who, alone in the box, fired a powerful shot into the near post to make it 2-0. The game became more open and physical after that, and in the 90th minute, Samu Corral headed in a corner at the far post to complete the 3-0 victory.
