In the south of Tenerife, a Spanish man, around 40 years old, was arrested for domestic violence. The operation was carried out jointly by the Civil Guard and the local police.
The incident occurred on Saturday night in an apartment in the historical center of Adeje.
According to preliminary information, two hours before the police arrived, a serious family quarrel broke out in the house on Nueva Street.
The man, who is currently suspected of the crime, was very agitated and aggressive. Law enforcement officials suggest that he may have been drunk or under the influence of drugs.
The first to arrive at the scene was a Civil Guard patrol from Adeje. Later, two more units of the local police arrived.
Six police officers tried to calm the man down with conversation, but it did not help.
Eventually, another Civil Guard patrol from Playa de las Américas arrived. Then they decided to subdue the man, handcuff him, and detain him.
As he was being led outside to the police car, the detainee behaved insolently and tried to intimidate law enforcement officers.
The situation was tense, and one of the guards even argued with the arrested man. Due to his behavior, it was decided to transport the man in a police car with a special partition.
The suspect was taken to pre-trial detention cells in Playa de las Américas.
