In Tenerife, a woman was arrested for posing as a lawyer and defrauding foreigners by charging them for free immigration services.
In Tenerife, in the city of Santa Cruz, the police caught a cunning woman. She pretended to be a lawyer and took money from foreigners for help with relocation documents. But in reality, these services are free!
The police began investigating in March when they noticed something suspicious in her actions.
It turned out that this "lawyer" offered foreigners help with various papers. To make people believe her, she pretended to be a real lawyer. This is how she deceived many people.
The victims told the police that they paid her because they thought they were dealing with a professional.
The police checked her bank accounts and saw that she had been constantly receiving money since 2020 – from small amounts to 500 euros per procedure.
At the same time, she was not registered as an entrepreneur anywhere and did not pay taxes. This further confirmed that she was engaged in illegal activities.
The Bar Association of Santa Cruz and the General Council of Lawyers of Spain confirmed that this woman has no right to work as a lawyer.
The police warn that such fraudsters often prey on foreigners who do not know local laws well.
The woman has now been detained and will be tried for fraud.
