Arona’s April cultural calendar features a diverse program of music, theater, and literature, highlighted by a community-focused Book Fair and the Arona Jazz Festival.

Arona’s cultural calendar for April is set to be a cornerstone of local life, focusing on bringing events to different neighborhoods and blending various art forms. The Arona City Council has announced that the Book Fair, taking place on April 17 and 18, will be the highlight of the month. The fair aims to bring literature to life by combining it with music, visual arts, and storytelling across several locations.

Culture Councilor Naím Yánez explained that the goal is to make reading a shared social experience rather than a solitary one. A key event of the fair will be the closing ceremony on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Buzanada Park, featuring a theatrical performance of Puss in Boots by the Arona Music Band and storyteller Moisés Évora.

The rest of the month offers a diverse mix of comedy, music, and community events. The Infanta Leonor Auditorium will host a packed schedule, including:

  • April 8: Alberto Farina
  • April 11: Valientes Charity Gala
  • April 14: Abubukaka’s satire on Kafka
  • April 16: CIMASUB underwater film festival
  • April 17: Antonio de Verónica and Saray Cortés Company
  • April 18: Alma de Bolero anniversary concert
  • April 24: Kike Pérez
  • April 30: A lyrical performance by Héctor Mendoza and Lelia Serafinceanu

Events are also spreading to other areas. On April 10, the Cabo Blanco Civic Center will host a flamenco show directed by José de la Curra. Additionally, the Plaza de la Iglesia in Los Cristianos will hold the Arona Jazz Festival on April 24 and 25. This free event will feature performances by the Christian Cabrera Quintet, Las Capullitas de Alelí, Los Jinetes del Groove, and the Omar Acosta and Leo Rondón quartet.

By hosting events in various locations and offering a wide range of genres, the municipality aims to engage all residents and establish Arona as a leading hub for arts and entertainment in the south of Tenerife.
