Arona Tenerife Guanches has begun training for the upcoming Spanish Inline Hockey Super Cup in Zaragoza, aiming to secure the club's first-ever national title with a reinforced roster.
Arona Tenerife Guanches has begun its summer training with a clear goal: the Spanish Inline Hockey Super Cup. The tournament is set to take place on September 5 and 6 at the San Juan de Mozarrifar Municipal Sports Center in Zaragoza, featuring last season’s four top teams: Molina Sport, Arona Tenerife Guanches, Rubí Cent Patins, and Espanya HC Palma.
The Tenerife team will face Rubí Cent Patins in the semifinal on Saturday, September 5, at 4:00 PM. This match is crucial for the club, as a win could lead to a historic final against fellow Canary Island side Molina Sport, provided they defeat Espanya HC Palma in the other semifinal.
Coming off their first-ever Elite League final appearance last season, the club has focused on keeping its core roster intact. However, the coaching staff faces a challenge in defense following the departure of two key players from the last three years: goalkeeper Raúl Aymerich and defenseman Ángel Andújar.
To fill these gaps, the club has recruited players with international experience. The coaching staff believes this strategy will raise the team's competitive level and establish them as a serious contender for national titles. Winning the Super Cup would be the first national trophy in the club's history, marking a major milestone for inline hockey in the Canary Islands.
