Arona City Council has implemented nightly traffic and parking restrictions in the Las Verónicas nightlife district to improve safety and facilitate municipal service operations.

Arona City Council has introduced new traffic rules for the Las Verónicas area, one of the busiest nightlife spots in Tenerife.

Starting now, the road running parallel to Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina will be closed to all traffic and parking between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. These restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles or those with special authorization.

The council implemented this change following a Local Police assessment, which highlighted the need to clear the road to help municipal services operate more effectively. Mayor Fátima Lemes Reverón explained that the move is part of a broader strategy to manage the area, where large crowds often make it difficult for vehicles to move safely at night.

Councilors Héctor Reyes and Clari Pérez added that the new rules will allow police, cleaning crews, and maintenance teams to work more efficiently and safely.

As tourism and nightlife continue to grow, the council aims to better manage public spaces by reducing vehicle congestion. By limiting traffic during peak hours, officials hope to create a safer, more controlled environment that improves the overall experience for both residents and visitors.
