Arona is hosting the "ExpoMarket Arona 2026" this weekend, featuring 41 local businesses, live entertainment, and sporting events to boost the municipality's economy.

Arona is focusing on boosting its local economy this weekend with the return of 'ExpoMarket Arona 2026.' Held on November 7 and 8 at the fairgrounds next to the Los Cristianos Sports Pavilion, the event aims to showcase the best of the municipality’s shops and service providers.

Organized by the Department of Economic Promotion and Employment, the fair offers much more than a typical market. It features a diverse range of businesses, from retail shops to hospitality services. In total, 41 local entities—30 commercial firms and 11 hospitality businesses—will be on-site to display their products. The event also highlights community support, with the Carrera por la Vida Foundation and the Federation of Associations of Deaf People of the Canary Islands (FASICAN) participating to represent the local non-profit sector.

The fair will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. both days, blending local shopping with live entertainment. Saturday’s lineup features a variety of local talent, including the FLD Company, Payaso Cañita, Güicho, Dile Que Sí, the Arona Rhythmic Gymnastics team, Los Playeritos, various choreographic groups, and the Carant Dance Club, with a final performance by Al Sur at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday’s schedule highlights the Municipal School of Music and Dance, magician David Borrás, and K-Pop groups Guerreras and DNS Academy. Comedian Kike Pérez will take the stage at 7:00 p.m., followed by a closing performance from the iconic group Los Sabandeños at 8:30 p.m.

To ensure the event is family-friendly, organizers have included children’s workshops and inflatable play areas. The weekend also features a sporting element: the nearby pavilion will host three national-level volleyball matches for C.V. Arona on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

These initiatives are part of a broader strategy by Canarian municipalities to support local businesses, encourage domestic spending, and help small retailers remain competitive against large chains and online shopping.
