A €5.7 million contract for coastal surveillance, rescue, and assistance services in Arona has been cancelled after no bids met the required technical or administrative standards.

The contract for surveillance, rescue, and assistance along the Arona coastline has been cancelled because no bids met the required technical or administrative standards.

The tender, which had an estimated value of over 5.7 million euros for a four-year period, received no suitable offers.

The municipality currently provides lifeguard services at Los Cristianos, El Camisón, Las Vistas, and La Honda beaches. During the summer and Easter holidays, services are also available at Las Galletas and Palm Mar.

Typically, over 31 staff members are employed, with extra help brought in during July and August to support adapted bathing services at Los Cristianos and Las Galletas. The adapted bathing service at Las Vistas operates all year round.
