Arantxa Rufo Debuts Traditionally Published Novel at Lanzarote Negra
Tenerife author Arantxa Rufo will present her latest crime fiction novel, 'Las tres muertes de Sarah Colbert', her first with a traditional publisher, at the Lanzarote Negra festival this Friday and Saturday.
Tenerife author Arantxa Rufo will be at Lanzarote Negra, Spain's final crime fiction festival of the year, this Friday and Saturday. She will be in the festival's 'Encuentro Noir' section to present her latest book, 'Las tres muertes de Sarah Colbert' (Duomo Ediciones, 2025).
Born in Madrid in 1979, Arantxa Rufo moved to Tenerife when she was barely a year old and has considered herself a Canary Islander ever since. This year, she published her fifth novel. It's her first book released by a traditional publisher, following the success of her four previous self-published works: 'Punto de mira', 'Zed está muerto', 'Sangre en las manos', and 'Espira'. With this latest novel, she once again delves into crime fiction, the genre she feels most comfortable with.
However, 'Las tres muertes de Sarah Colbert' sees Arantxa Rufo push her boundaries, almost unintentionally, even stylistically. She crafts a more intimate story, which is quite uncommon for a thriller. The narrative unfolds at a slower, more reflective pace. This different rhythm has allowed the author to take more creative risks, a confidence she has gained from her previous works.
