Arafo Launches Inaugural Vocal Training Seminar Led by Baritone David Menéndez
Arafo, Tenerife, is hosting its inaugural vocal training seminar led by renowned baritone David Menéndez to support emerging local artists and strengthen the town's musical heritage.
Arafo, Tenerife, has become a new hub for vocal training with the launch of its first seminar dedicated to singing technique and performance. Named after María Célida Alzola, this initiative aims to help emerging local artists refine their skills.
The program is being held at the Juan Carlos I Auditorium and is led by renowned baritone David Menéndez. With a career spanning the world’s top opera stages, Menéndez is providing intensive, five-day training to over ten students, focusing on vocal mastery, stage presence, and overall artistic development.
This seminar is part of a broader effort by the local council to strengthen Arafo’s long-standing musical heritage. Supported by the Miguel Castillo Choir, the project goes beyond the classroom to engage the community. The training will conclude this Friday at 7:00 p.m. with a public performance at the auditorium, where students will showcase what they have learned. By hosting this event, the local administration is making high-level professional training accessible to island residents, saving them from having to travel to major European cities for similar instruction.
