The Canary Islands are getting ready to welcome a big name in the guitar world. American musician Andy Timmons and his band will play two concerts in the islands next March, according to event organizers. These shows are part of his current European tour, bringing high-quality music and artistry to the islands' cultural scene.

The first concert will be on Sunday, March 17, at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna, Tenerife. The following day, Monday, March 18, the band will perform at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Both events are scheduled to start at 8:00 PM. Andy Timmons is a globally recognized musician with a diverse career. During his time with the pop-metal band Danger Danger, he sold millions of albums, had music videos top the charts, and toured the world opening for famous bands. On his own, he has released seven albums, exploring genres from instrumental rock to blues and pop, often with a nod to legendary artists.

He's also a respected studio musician. He has collaborated on recordings with top artists like Simon Phillips and played on live albums with Olivia Newton-John, for whom he was also musical director and guitarist on several US tours. His resume also includes work with Kip Winger, Paula Abdul, and Paul Stanley, plus countless productions for radio and television. Timmons has shared the stage with many influential guitarists, such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani (often as a guest on G3 tours), Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, Mike Stern, Ace Frehley, Ted Nugent, and Pierre Bensusan. His collaborations even extend to 1960s pop icons like The Beach Boys, Lesley Gore, and Gordon Waller.

Born in Evansville, Indiana, Timmons started playing music at thirteen. Knowing it was challenging to succeed only in rock, he broadened his training by studying classical and jazz guitar at the University of Miami. After moving to Dallas, he became part of the active recording studio scene. In 1988, he formed the Andy Timmons Band, gaining recognition in Texas. Around the same time, he joined Danger Danger to complete their first album and began an intense period of international tours.

Upon his return to Dallas in 1993, he resumed his solo career and studio work, releasing many albums that received critical and public acclaim. In 2001, his signing with the Favored Nations label marked the beginning of his definitive international career, which grew with new music and world tours. His influence has been widely recognized; he's been voted among favorite guitarists by readers of Japanese rock magazines and awarded Musician of the Year for four consecutive years by the Dallas Observer Music Awards. He is also a globally sought-after speaker and an ambassador for Ibanez Guitars.
