The Sala de Arte Contemporáneo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife opens an immersive solo exhibition by artist Andrea Allgayer titled Sabes que nunca lo haría this Friday, running through September 11.

The Sala de Arte Contemporáneo (SAC) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is set to host a new exhibition showcasing emerging talent from the Canary Islands. The gallery will open a solo exhibition by local artist Andrea Allgayer this Friday at 12:00 p.m. The show will be free to the public and run until September 11.

Curated by Dalia de la Rosa and Javier Sicilia Rodríguez, the exhibition—titled Sabes que nunca lo haría (You know I would never do it)—breaks away from traditional gallery formats to offer an immersive physical experience. Spanning two interconnected spaces, the project features work created by Allgayer between 2024 and 2025. Rather than simply displaying objects, the artist has created an ecosystem that blends industrial and everyday materials. This "vibrant architecture" aims to translate the social and sonic energy of breakbeat music into a physical environment.

The exhibition reflects a growing trend in contemporary Canarian art: moving beyond passive viewing to engage the spectator’s body. Allgayer uses repetition, fragmentation, and vibration to connect the realities of dense urban life with peripheral areas, using text as a physical material to express ideas that conventional language cannot capture.

By placing the visitor at the center of the experience, the SAC continues its mission to support artistic projects that explore the intersection of sound and poetry. This exhibition highlights the work of one of the island's most promising young artists, offering a unique look at how we interact with our environment.
