The leading roles are played by stars of the modern Ibero-American scene: the Spaniard Ana Duato and the Argentinian Darío Grandinetti. They play an intimate and painful meeting of two people who were once together. After the divorce, they meet to sign documents, and in between, they clarify unspoken emotions and feel the silence that reigns between them.
Marguerite Duras wrote a poetic and refined dialogue where love, pain, and memories intertwine.
Director Magüi Mira has created an atmosphere where space, reflection, and pauses also become important elements of the 90-minute play. Performances of "Music" in Tenerife and Gran Canaria are supported by the local authorities of La Laguna and Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
The organizers say that critics and audiences especially note the acting. Ana Duato and Darío Grandinetti show "masterful acting, full of nuances and intensity, which is touching. The play is dramatic, but with intelligent humor, which makes it close to every viewer."
So, "Music" is a play worth watching for those who are looking for emotions, beauty, and reflection in the theater.
