AluaSoul Costa Adeje Celebrates First Anniversary, Earns LGBTQ+ Recognition
AluaSoul Costa Adeje, part of Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, celebrated its first anniversary with a party attended by industry leaders and local officials, also receiving an award for LGBTQ+ inclusivity.
On October 23rd, the AluaSoul Costa Adeje hotel, which is part of Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, celebrated its first birthday with a special event. People from Hyatt and Stoneweg, local government officials, representatives from major European travel companies, and important members of the Canary Islands community all came to celebrate.
The party was held at the hotel, and everyone felt proud of what the hotel had achieved in its first year. There were official speeches, but also fun activities inspired by the Canary Islands, like traditional cocktails, cigar making, carnival performances, drag queens dressed for Carnival, and fire shows that celebrated Tenerife's volcanoes.
Important people who attended included Manuel Melenchón from Hyatt, Miguel Casas from Stoneweg Hospitality, Ricardo Domínguez from Hyatt, and Víctor Gil, the General Manager of AluaSoul Costa Adeje.
Representatives from big European travel companies like TUI, BAH, Jet2 Holidays, and EasyJet Holidays were also there, along with local officials like Lope Afonso, Vice President of the Cabildo de Tenerife, and Mercedes Vargas, Deputy Mayor of Costa Adeje.
The evening was relaxed but also professional, showing how much the hotel has grown in its first year. Víctor Gil, the hotel's director, said the event was "more than just a date; it's a thank you to our team for their hard work and to our customers and partners for trusting us from the beginning."
The AluaSoul Costa Adeje opened in 2024 after being completely renovated. Gil says that its first year has been a time of learning and growth, and that things "couldn't be better."
He explained that because of the hotel's great location, the renovations, and the support from Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, they've been able to create a strong and unique hotel in southern Tenerife.
The hotel is owned by Stoneweg and managed by Hyatt. Miguel Casas from Stoneweg Hospitality said that these kinds of partnerships are important for making the Canary Islands an attractive, high-quality travel destination.
The AluaSoul Costa Adeje has 226 rooms and is for adults only (16+). It focuses on wellness, exclusivity, and connecting with the environment. It has a modern design, an outdoor pool, a wellness center with a sauna and Turkish bath, and a gym.
The "My Favorite Club" option offers even more luxury, with bigger rooms, rooftop views, private lounge areas, and personalized services.
The hotel's restaurants, Terra and Mare Nubium, combine local ingredients with international cuisine. There are also several bars that focus on creative cocktails.
One of the highlights of the night was the hotel receiving the Queer Destinations Committed award, making it the first hotel in Tenerife and the second in the Canary Islands to get this international recognition.
This award is given by Queer Destinations to hotels that offer inclusive, safe, and non-discriminatory environments for the LGBTQ+ community.
Adrián Hernández from Queer Destinations said that working with AluaSoul Costa Adeje is an important step in making the Canary Islands a safe and respectful place for everyone.
All hotel employees complete the "Hospitality Meets Diversity" training program, which ensures that all areas of the hotel are inclusive and respectful.
Víctor Gil said that this award "reinforces our commitment to open, respectful, and authentic hospitality, and encourages us to continue creating an environment where all guests feel welcome."
Gil also said that the hotel's success is due to its team. "Their professionalism and kindness have been essential in this first year. It's only possible with people who love what they do," he said.
The hotel has also adapted to more conscious travelers who value sustainability, quality, and authentic experiences. "They want to relax, enjoy, and discover Tenerife in a personal way. Our adults-only format has been key to attracting these travelers," Gil added.
The hotel works closely with local suppliers to promote a sustainable economy. "We're proud of our partnerships with local companies that understand the importance of quality and help us offer local products that our guests love," he said.
With a year of experience, AluaSoul Costa Adeje is looking forward to the future. "We want to continue to be a leader in the adults-only market, focusing on continuous improvement, technology, and sustainability," Gil explained.
One of the main goals is to create unique experiences that connect with guests and reflect the essence of Tenerife.
Gil summarized the hotel's mission with a message of gratitude:
"Thank you for trusting us, for choosing us, and for recommending us. This first year has been possible thanks to our clients, partners, suppliers, and especially our team. We're continuing with the same enthusiasm as day one and with the commitment to always offer the best. AluaSoul Costa Adeje is your home in Tenerife."
AluaSoul Costa Adeje is part of Alua Hotels & Resorts, which is part of Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, a group of 11 international luxury all-inclusive resorts and hotels around the world.
