All Saints' Day Flower Boom: Tacoronte Market Extends Hours, Sees Queues
Tacoronte's municipal farmers' market extended its opening hours and saw long queues for flowers as residents prepared for All Saints' Day, highlighting a seasonal sales surge.
Flower shops experience a huge boom in business around All Souls' Day. This is because people traditionally decorate graves and niches, leading to a big jump in sales in the days before November 1st.
People often prefer fresh flowers or need to order them for the day itself (which will be a Saturday in 2025), making flower shops incredibly busy. In Tenerife, while all flower sellers get busy, market stalls are particularly popular.
Because of this demand, the Tacoronte municipal farmers' market decided to open longer. Normally, it only opens on weekends, but this Thursday, it made an exception to prepare for the All Saints' Day celebrations.
This turned out to be a great idea. From early morning, Tacoronte residents gathered outside, and when the doors opened, a long queue of customers was clearly visible.
The Tacoronte Farmers' Market is on the road between Tacoronte and Tejina, in the La Laguna area, at the 3.5-kilometer mark. It usually opens on Saturdays and Sundays until 1:30 PM.
