The Classical Laguna Experience festival will conclude in La Laguna with a grand concert featuring Venezuelan violinist Alexis Cárdenas and conductor Glass Marcano, where works by Canarian and Latin American composers will be performed.

On Sunday, the 21st, at 20:30, a grand concert by the Classical Laguna Experience Orchestra (CLEO) will take place at the Leal Theater in La Laguna. This will be the finale of the Classical Laguna Experience (CLE) festival.

The orchestra will be joined by virtuoso violinist Alexis Cardenas from Venezuela. He is considered one of the best musicians in Latin America. He is currently the concertmaster of the National Orchestra of Île-de-France in Paris. Conductor Glass Marcano and other famous guests will also take the stage.

The CLE festival, organized by Vector de Ideas, has already become a cultural bridge between the Canary Islands and Latin America. This year, Venezuela is the guest of honor at the festival. CLE is funded by Promotur (Canary Islands), the Government of the Canary Islands, Cabildo de Tenerife, and the La Laguna City Council.

"This festival is interesting because it has an open program, part of which is dedicated to Venezuela. I think that historically there have been close ties between the Canary Islands and Venezuela. It will be a great experience for me to perform on the same stage with Glass Marcano, who is also from Venezuela," says Cardenas.

He also emphasizes the importance of musical friendship between the two shores of the Atlantic and speaks about the connection between classical and popular music: "Great academic music has always been intertwined with popular music. Bach, Brahms, Mozart, and Stravinsky were inspired by the dances and folk music of their time. The gap between them appeared later, in the 20th century. In Latin America, this connection has been preserved, and I believe that this is our wealth that defines our identity."

At the concert, CLEO will perform a program that combines works by Canarian and Latin American composers. In particular, there will be a world premiere of "Phase" by Canarian composer Irene Fariña, as well as "La leyenda del noble caballero" by Mexican composer José Elizondo. These works will be recorded on a disc.

Cardenas emphasized that such a cultural association is very important: "There is a lot in common in the music of the Canary Islands and Venezuela. For example, joropo came from eastern Venezuela and spread to Colombia, telling the story of peoples. This fusion of cultures lives on, and the festival shows this perfectly."

The festival will also visit La Gomera (September 22 and 24) and Lanzarote (October 4) to spread the spirit of musical unity throughout the archipelago.
