Aleksei Bordusov’s ‘Marine Lucid Dream’ Exhibition Opens in La Laguna
Espacio Bronzo in La Laguna will host the opening of Marine Lucid Dream this Friday, an exhibition by Ukrainian artist Aleksei Bordusov that explores themes of displacement and adaptation through works inspired by the landscapes of Tenerife.
This Friday at 8:00 p.m., Espacio Bronzo in La Laguna will host the opening of Marine Lucid Dream, a new exhibition featuring the recent work of Ukrainian artist Aleksei Bordusov, also known internationally as Aec Interesni Kazki.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Espacio Bronzo and Ibiza’s Adda Gallery. It highlights the evolution of Bordusov’s work since he moved to Tenerife after being forced to leave his home country due to the war. Curated by Anna Dimitrova, who will attend the opening alongside the artist, the exhibition will be on display at 19 Núñez de la Peña Street until June 26.
The collection features a variety of mediums, including painting, graphite drawings, bronze, and ceramics, created between 2022 and 2026. While Bordusov continues to use the mythological style that has defined his 20-year career, critics note that his new surroundings have left a mark on his work. The volcanic landscape and Atlantic atmosphere of the Canary Islands have become central elements in his latest pieces.
At its core, Marine Lucid Dream reflects on the experience of being a displaced artist. By using the duality of dreams and reality as a metaphor, the exhibition explores how one maintains their identity while adapting to an uncertain new environment. For Bordusov, whose work has been featured across Europe, America, and Asia, this period in Tenerife serves as a significant turning point, framing creative freedom as a form of resistance against global instability.
